Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner.  Write about your most unforgettable meal.  My most unforgettable meal would have to be when I was in Columbia. It was all of my family at the table full of food and we were all talking laughing and having a great time. Soon we were able to eat after we said our prayer. I had some of the best conversations of my life with these lovely people and it made me truly realize that a meal is more then just some food. A meal brings people toghether in hard times and brings people closer in happy times. It is comforting and a way to let go of the stresses of the world. The food was also unforgettably amazing but that is not what made this food a meal.  Summary: Today in class we did a quiz on the short story we read throughout the week.  Reflection: Today in class I learned to work as a team not just as peers and we really succeeded.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier? One time when I realized that I needed to look out for myself is the other day when I forgot to submit an assignment in my AP Gov class. My teacher is very nice but a little scary (not necessary who I want to email about a missing grade). I was debating on it but I just decided that it was 100% what is best for me and my future. So I emailed him and talked about it with him in person. It ended up going well and I am so glad that I did because now he is going to put in the assignment and my grade will go back to normal.  Summary: Today in class we finished reading the short story and answered questions on it.  Reflection:  Today I bettered my reading comprehension and learned how to answer questions b...

I am blessed with family who supports me and all of my accomplishments from getting a job, starting my own club, to little things like learning to drive I am so thankful to have such an amazing family who really loves and cares for me. Lastly I am thankful for my friends who never fail to make me feel better in situations where I need them and are real with me when I need that too. Overall I am so thankful to have such strong and beautiful people in my life and I am aware of how blessed I am.  Summary: Today in class we wrote down vocab and did 2 executrices for the 15 words Reflection: Today I bettered my vocabulary and learned 15 new words.

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel? One time that I had an encounter with a homeless person was when I was in New York. It was just me and my mom and we were in the subway. We were going up to the exit and there was a bit of an upwards tilt in the ground. We then see this homeless man without arms or legs going down this floor with no way to stop. He was screaming with joy and had no apparent fear. Me and my mom grew worried as we kept walking. We did not stop because we had to catch a flight but I still think about this interaction and wonder what the outcome was. I hope he was okay and I really do wish him the very best.  Summary: Today in class we read the beginning of a short story about a mother daughter and a homeless man. Reflection: Today in class I learned to better my attention span and follow along with someone reading outloud.

In  “A Rose for Emily,”  Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?   In  “A Rose for Emily,”  Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. The most shocking or “craziest” news story I have ever heard would be about a father and his young daughter. His wife had recently gave birth to his new born and his wife was away running errands. The father took it Upon himself to rape his new born and then proceed to kill her. After the wife found out sh...

Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time. Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. One  place that holds deep memories for me is New York. Me and my family have gone almost every year since I was born and I absolutely adore it there. It is definetly a postivie place for me and it reflects apart of who I am because it shows me how the world is full of opportunities. It opens my eyes to the importance of dreaming big and working hard by showing me a vast group of people all of them being there for one central plan, which is to be sometime. New York gives people who have passion and try hard a chance but puts those who lack devotion in their place. I think this is a reflection of me and my har...

Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better. Thinking about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two, one time I saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom was in AP Human Geography we talked about arable land. It is used to describe land that is fit for cultivaition. It is a major pull factor in history and has been a key indicator of many battles and fights. Especially between Native Americans and colonials it was a key factor Europeans were interested in the new world land.  Summary: Today in class we learned more vocabulary and did exercise two and four.  Reflection: Today in class I learned and grasped an understanding for the given vocabulary words.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule. Thinking about "the Rock pile" one thing that my parents forbade me from doing while I was growing up was eating candy. They did this because I was obsessed with it and I always wanted it. It was their way of blocking me from getting dietbetes or cavities. It was a big issue for me and I was always sneaking it. They would get so mad at me and punish me when they found wrappers in my room. This rule was Torchure but I know they did it out of love. Overall this rule was set for my own good and I know this but it was quite upsetting for me and I wish there was another way to look at this.  Summary:  Today in class I was not their because of a wisdom tooth consultation! Reflection: Today in class idk what we did

Thinking about  “The Rockpile,”  which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior. Thinking  about  “The Rockpile,”  the parent or guardian in my life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline is my mom. She is very good at getting her anger out and not bottling her emotions up therefore if she is mad she is willing to let me know. She yells at me often and is very firm with her beliefs making her annoying at points but I am not scared of her she is a sweetheart and she does it out of love. Overall the stricter parent is usually the more loving and involved parent so it is not always a bad thing.  Summary: Today in class we learned about process of elimination and we took a pop quiz as a group. Reflection: I learned how to best choose an answer on my tests for my best advantage.

Prompt:  Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger. Words shape how we  think, write, and interpret literature. A time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped me better analyze a text, express an idea, or make my writing stronger was when I was writing my final essay for my internship over the summer. Throughout the summer I learned a number of different words regarding plants and botany. Grasping an understanding of these words really strengthened my writing for my internship and pushed it over the edge. I was very proud of this writing and I am glad I learned so much.   Summary: Today in class we did vocabulary and 3 exercises Reflection: Today in class I learned many new words and increased the size of my vocabulary.
