 Today, you learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. Reflect on one step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped you understand the process more clearly. Explain what you learned during that step and how it improved your ability to analyze a speaker’s message.

 Today, I  learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. One step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped me understand the process more clearly was the third step which is organizing the topic, subtopics, and details. What I learned during the third step was how to organize all my ideas, information, and evaluations to best benefit me and how I write my essay. It improved my ability to analyze a speaker’s message because it made a stored organization of my thoughts so I would not forget my ideas of how I was planning on evaluating the speakers message.

Summary:

I feel like I learned a lot today about how to correctly plan for and execute a rhetorical analysis. 

Reflection:

Today in class I gained confidence for my rhetorical analysis execution and formed a plan for it.

Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.  One thing that I can not stop thinking about is what I learned about in AP Psychology today. We watched this video about people called "Wild Children" who are people who were raised with little to no human contact/interactions. These children were captured at birth and were striped of their rights to do anything basically. Because they have no knowledge of language and had no one to interact with for the critical learning period of their lives they make little to no noise. The aspect that I think about the most is that I am unable to grasp the idea of how my thought process would look like without words/vocabulary/language. I can not fathom the idea of thinking without words. I am also curious about how they felt after being found and brought into the human world. Overall this is a very interesting topic to me and I have found myself unable to get it off my mind.

Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.   The part of the annotated bibliography that challenged me the most was definitely the evaluation. I found this challenging because I could not find the credibility in the source itself rather, I had to do further research on who wrote the source and their perspective to see in check for biases. This challenge helped me grow as a researcher, giving me more experience on learning how to recognize a credible and not credible source and how to look for biases in each source. This will help me write my research paper to be as credible as possible, making it without a bias, and ensuring that all points of view are seen throughout my source.
